A lovely trip can be undertaken to the Happy Mountain Range, which lies in the middle of the beautiful country of Happy Ness. The geology of the Happy Mountains is very interesting. You can find really nice sediments there. They are all twisted and turned but lovely fossil animals and plants can still be found. When you take a closer look it becomes obvious that the layers are all folded in breathtaking forms. So all you geologists come to the Happy Mountains and have a jolly good time!
A long long time ago the first signs of the mountain became visible. Little creatures in water basins with thick layers of mud began to feel there was something wrong. The water began to drop and the animals and plants began to fear for their lives. Deep below very large forces had started pushing the two parts of what is now Happy Ness together. Nothing could be done against it and a lot of the living things living in the water died!
Eventually the water disappeared and the land began to rise. First a little hill appeared but steadily the forces pushed the mud layers higher and higher. But then the highest mud layers were attacked by wind and water. Little streams appeared taking away a lot of the little fossils and other nice little things in the mud. The deep forces however were stronger so the attack of the weather wasn’t strong enough to balance it. Thus the little hill became bigger and bigger until it became a mountain. And now, we can all enjoy this fantastic mountain for its scenery and the beautiful fossils it contains. So all you people please come and see!
