With the final track ‘Andalusia’ on his newest studio album ‘Professor Satchafunkilus And The Musterion Of Rock’ Joe Satriani has made his masterpiece. Perhaps I’m judging too fast but this song, an instrumental guitar song is so powerful! It starts with an acoustic Spanish guitar piece which turns into a strong Satch copyrighted piece of thunder and lightning.
Really, what a force he creates and how streamlined he forms the notes. He does again what I like so much about his music: he causes each guitar tone to melt, forming a continues melange. Can it get better after this song? And one other thing: is my judgement clouded? I’m wondering how I feel about this song in a couple of weeks, used as I am to fall in love with a song and listen it to pieces. After a couple of weeks I’m fed up with it.
