I have read the book ‘State of Fear‘ by Michael Crichton. It was nice to read and funny that it apparently is so sceptical about human induced global warming. However, one thing is true, ‘global warming’ is really becoming a public issue (see f.e. An Inconvenient Truth).
As a scientists I will allways be sceptical, but as a human being on this planet, it’s good to be more aware on how we as a human species influence this planet. To get back to global warming and media, I found f.e. this page: Global Warming Art, which has the goal to show the evidence of human induced global warming in a way a layman could understand. I also found this review about the book.
There is another book (rather a trilogy even) about global warming, written by Kim Stanley Robinson. I’m waiting for the pocket version of the final book to be released, then I’ll buy the trilogy. It’s called ‘Science in the Capitol’ with the books Forty Signs of Rain, Fifty Degrees Below and Sixty Days and Counting.
