From a colleague I heard about this book: The World Without Us by Alan Weisman. It’s a description what would happen if the whole of humanity would disappear from the planet. It’s not about the reason why this would happen, it merely gives a picture of the state of a world without us. A world where things aren’t maintained anymore, no repainting, no cleaning, no nothing except the working of nature. What would happen to your house? To your city? Things will start to rot and to degrade and there are no humans to fix it. Plant life will flourish because the municipal works don’t get rid of the weeds anymore. Just imagine…
