I watched four movies this weekend:

1. John Q
2. Primer
3. 25th Hour
4. Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain (aka Amelie)

Well I have to say, all of ‘m where really great! John Q was a good drama, it had me hooked to the screen the entire movie. It’s about a father with a sick boy who is going to die because of heart failure if he doesn’t get a heart transplant. The insurer doesn’t want to pay, so the hospital is about to release his son. Then he doesn’t see no other option then taking hostages in the emergency room of the hospital…

Primer was strange and crazy. I can recommend it! It’s about an invention and how the inventors cope with the numerous possibilities of this invention.

The 25th Hour was really good, just imagine you have 25 hours before you go to jail. In the case of Edward Norton’s character that means a possible death because he’s accustomed to the good life. How will he survive in jail?

And then finally: Amelie. Wow, what a movie. Keep the best for last. I really loved this movie. Heard about it for some time and this time I thought ‘why not rent it, let’s see why people think it’s a great movie’. Well it was, so another recommendation! This main character, Amelie, is so well played by actress Audrey Tautou. Strange to see she’s one of the main characters (next to Tom Hanks) in the ‘Da Vinci Code‘.
